Pop Culture With A Smack

Pop Culture With A Smack

The most recent movie that has had a big influence on our pop culture was the new Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravits, for the past years teens and young adults have been obsessed with superhero movies like this one. Teens buy expensive tickets to go and watch these types of movies with their friends because they enjoy them.

A TV show that recently got lots of praise for the plot and the amazing acting was the show Euphoria starring Zendaya. Euphoria gives a look into the life of teenagers and the drama that goes on all around them. Though some of it is hard to watch because it shows the struggles of the main character Rue and all of her friends, teens, young adults, and even some adults found the show amazing and worth the watch.

In the summer of 2021, Olivia Rodrigo released her first album and it was and still is a massive hit with teens and young adults, following her album which was a success, she just released a short film to go along with it on Disney+ called “Driving Home 2 U(a sour film).”

Recently Tom Brady was the talk of the town again after coming out of retirement after only being retired for 40 days. He will be returning to the Buccaneers for his 23rd season as probably the best quarterback of all-time in the NFL. The MLB just started their spring training this year after giving baseball fans a scare over if the 2022 season was actually going to happen.

One of the biggest crazes right now is the New York Times game WORDLE, a game where you have 6 tries to guess a random 5 letter word that has had a massive influence on the world. Most teens and teachers here play the game, some even play it first thing in the morning. Recently one of the biggest crazes in pop culture is Will Smith and Chris Rock. After an insensitive joke made at the 2022 Oscars by Chris Rock about Jada Smith, Will Smith got up onto the stage and smacked Chris Rock in the face, then had so aggressive choice words for Chris. People across the U.S. have been arguing whether he had a good reason for smacking Chris Rock. Do you think it was justified?
